Join us at Bayonne Public Library for Tech Thursdays with our Adult Services Librarian, Bill! All sessions meet on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 pm in the Board Room. Each class will have a specific focus.
This class will focus on Basic Microsoft Word.

Individual class descriptions are below:
Basic Computer Security: Computer security is extraordinarily important for everyone. In this class, we will discuss computer security. Threats can arrive via email and via websites. We will discuss the types of threats such as viruses and ransomware. We will also discuss good security practices and antivirus programs. There are no prerequisites for this class.
Basic Microsoft Word: Microsoft Word is the most popular word processor. In this class, we will discuss what a word processor is and what you can do with it. We will create documents and edit them. We will learn some of the many features of Microsoft Word. Prerequisites: Students need to know how to use a mouse and keyboard and how to click on icons.
Basic Microsoft Excel: In this class, students will be introduced to Microsoft Excel, the most popular spreadsheet. Students will learn how to create a spreadsheet, how to enter data, and how to perform some basic operations with that data. Prerequisites: Students need to know how to use a mouse and keyboard and how to click on icons.
eBooks: In this class, students will learn about eBooks. They will learn how to use Axis360, the eBook service of the Bayonne Public Library. They will learn about eReaders, like Amazon kindles, and apps for mobile devices. They will also learn about free and low cost eBook sites. There are no prerequisites for this class.
Ask Me Anything (AMA): Students can ask any technology related questions and we will do our best to answer them. Any technology topic is acceptable. There are no prerequisites for this class.
