About the Branch The Branch has almost everything the Main Library offers. We have current hot best sellers, non-fiction current and old ones, bibliographies, audio tapes for the visually impaired, CD-ROMs for your home computers, and a very large selection of large print books. Also for the teen scene we have a nice group of books for the middle schoolers and high schoolers, and also offer the "High School Reading List" books. For our younger clients, young children ages preschool to grade 3, we have a beautiful selection of easy picture books, our " Public Schools Reading Lists", and non-fiction and biographies. We also have the Caldecott (for illustrations) Award and Newberry (for story line) Award books. For our older friends grades 4 to 8, we have great story books, historical fiction, mysteries, current books, like the Potter Series, Lemony Snicket, and of course Nancy Drews and R. L. Stines collections. We have lots of science experiment books, biographies, dinosaurs and a lot of other neat reading material. Story Court Branch also offers our own graded "Reading Lists of Suggested Books". In addition to all that above, we have two word processors that you can type your reports or resumes on , and we were also the recipient of a grant by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation of six new gateway computers. Now we are connected to the world wide web through the Internet. And also loaded on these computers are the "Magic School Bus" suit for children to learn and play; the "Microsoft Office" suit, which includes Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, with tutorial to learn. All have headphones so you can learn at your own pace. Also loaded on these computers are encyclopedias, Streets & Trips, Africana Encyclopedia, atlases, dictionaries and more. For the computer novices it also has a mouse tutorial. These six computer are connected to a common black and white printer with printing costing 10 cents per page of text and quarter for pictures. So for our Bergen Point patrons, the Branch is a great destination for walk to come on down and check us out, and for all citizens of Bayonne to come on in and visit us. You can apply for a library card and we're in a building that has a lot of services from seniors to children. For more information, please contact Marie A. Russotto-Smith, the Head of Story Court Branch at (201) 858-6979.
