All of the following databases can be used at the library, or from any computer with an internet connection. When using these databases outside of the library, you will be prompted to enter your library card number. Enter all the numbers on the back of your library card, with no spaces.

Literature Resource Center - LRC   
Find up-to-date biographical information, overviews, full-text literary criticism and reviews on nearly 130,000 writers in all disciplines, from all time periods and from around the world. The optional MLA International Bibliography module adds citations for hundreds of thousands of books, articles and dissertations from 1926 to the present, linked to full text where available.

Biography Resource Center  
This database integrates award-winning biographies from respected Gale Group sources with related full-text articles from hundreds of periodicals, as well as tens of thousands of images and links to hand-picked web sites. Search for people---both current and historic from all eras and fields of endeavor---based on name, occupation, nationality, ethnicity, birth/death dates and places, or gender, as well as keyword and full text. Or, combine search criteria to create a highly-targeted custom search. 

Great Lives and Events from History

Search through the following time periods in the “Great Lives from History” and "Great Events From History" series:
The Ancient World, The Middle Ages, The Renaissance, The 17^th Century, The 18^th Century, The 19^th Century, The 20^th Century and  Notorious Lives. (These books are also available in print in the library’s Reference Room.) Great for biographical and history research.

Points of View Reference Center

Points of View is designed to assist researchers in understanding the full scope of controversial subjects. Use Points of View as a guide to debate, developing arguments, writing position papers, and for development of critical thinking skills. 

Great for learning about different sides of an issue, pros and cons, etc.

NoveList Plus

NoveList is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more for over 135,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interest to fiction readers, such as Author Read-alikes, What We're Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists. For school media specialists and teachers there are Picture Book Extenders and articles on Teaching with Fiction. 

Business Source Elite

Contains company profiles, as well as a searchable database of articles from business magazines and journals. 

Literary Reference Center

Helpful for high school and undergraduate students doing homework assignments or research on topics of a literary nature.
